The novelty of the story Lost car rescue wants in this niche. It replaces the artificial drama that we have to finish this drama in four days with a more serious astonishment of the sacred cow, with the sacred cows. in this case, it’s the show’s five-person car freak party, directed by Matt Sager. The young car hunter is joined by his brother Steve, the mechanic MacGyver-ing; Dave, the auto body veteran; Lee, crane operator; and Jess, the pilot.

Forget the high-priced auction, the setting for each episode is more of the wild and secluded nature of places like northern British Columbia. The restaurants with shiny paint from these other shows? They are replaced by rusty relics from the 1920s to 1970s.

The untrained eye might see little more than junk in these abandoned vehicles, but for Sager et al. these rare vintage cars are pieces of history that deserve the resurrection.

Of course, saving them means first depositing the Stinson in the farmer’s field where they decompose in the dirt and making an offer to the owner, then pulling him out of the brush and onto a waiting trailer. But all of this is easier said than done – in fact, What difficulty it’s doing that’s practically what Lost car rescue is all about.

Well, that, and the chemistry between Matt, Jess, Steve, Dave, and Lee. Each comes to the table with their own experience and skill set, with the five complementing each other and working together to extract some of these long forgotten classics.

Lost car rescue airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on History, debuting Jan. 13; you can also stream it live or on demand via StackTV or the Global TV app.
