Eva Longoria brought the biggest shoe trend of the summer for a dip in the pool this week.
Soaking up the summer sunshine, the actress today shared a candid ‘Instagram vs. Reality’ moment in a hot pink gown; the hot pink kaftan featured long sleeves and a mid-length fit with a bold high slit to finish.
To complete her colorful look, the “Desperate Housewives” star pulled out a golden touch of the thong-sandal trend in a flat silhouette with a T-shaped finish.
Flip-flops returned to the celebrity scene last year as one of the biggest trends for spring and summer and are set to stay in 2021. Whether it’s classic flip-flops or flip-flop heels, the minimalist silhouette follows in the footsteps of the 90s. – a fashion-inspired revitalization, as seen with shoes like square toe styles and pops of neon color. Stars like Kate Hudson, Meryl Streep, Kim Kardashian and Gabrielle Union, among other big names, continue to support the trend for even cooler temperatures.
Longoria herself has been a lifelong follower of the heeled sandal trend and brought a laid back twist to the figure for a day at the pool in March. The “Devious Maids” actress tanned in a black metal hook bikini layered under a blue button-up blanket and matching wide-brimmed hat. Accentuating the look further with oversized sunglasses, the outfit also included a set of on-trend sandals.
The slip-on flip flops allow for effortless waterfront style with their thin straps and neutral colourway.
A more common shoe choice for Longoria herself these days is actually not heels but sneakers; Longoria continuously shared glimpses of her home workouts throughout her forties, wearing shoes from New Balance, Ryka, Adidas and more. When it comes to shoes, however, sports brands aren’t the only brands you can find Longoria in. The ‘Grand Hotel’ actress created her own eponymous shoe line which was launched in March in collaboration with European e-commerce sites Eobuwie and Modivo.
For a more formal style, the actress and producer also frequents the shoes of big luxury brands like Christian Louboutin and Gianvito Rossi among other big brands.
