Top 5 Things to do in Timor Leste

Diving & Snorkeling

Located on the Southwest corner of the Coral Triangle, the coasts of Timor Leste & Atauro Island offer some of the best Diving in the World.  The Reefs are preistine and the sea Life if extreamly diverse.  Diving can also be done from Shore Dives.  Snorkeling can also be done from numerouse beach located on the Northern side of the coast.

Sunrise on Mt Ramelau

Watching the sunrise from the highest peak in Timor Leste is truely Amazing.  The climb takes approximatly three hours where you will find the one of the most photographed Virgin Mary Staues in Timor Leste.  On a clear moring you can see both the North and South Coast.  The starting point for your treak is Hatubuilico Village. 

Atauro Island

Atauro Island is located 30 km from the capital of Dili. People travel to Atauro to relax and recharge.   Once on Atauro you have options on Snorkeling, Diving, Treaking, Swimming and Fishing just to name a few.  The island has a very pace of Life with Simple accommodation.  There is a daily water taxi to Atauro taking approximatly 1.5 hours each way.

Baucau is Timor Leste 2nd Largest Town and a great way to spend a day or overnight trip.  The trip takes approximialty 3 hours each way and follows the Coastal Road all the way - connecting its two main cities. On the way along the coast line the landscape will change from beach-side roads to cliff edges. 

For the shoppers edge, Manatuto village produces clay and pottery products, and at Baucau there is a big market surrounded by palm and green-red acacia trees.

Let's not forget the crystal waters were you can refresh yourself. A beach visit is followed by lunch and a drive up to the mountain roads for a glimpse into a lost world.

Before we head back to Dili there is an afternoon stop for a swim at Metinaro Beach.
