Place: Dili (12 May 2012)The President of Timor-Leste, Dr. José Ramos-Horta, today officially announced the Dili 'City of Peace' Marathon, which will take place on Saturday the 18th of June of this year. Aiming to attract between 1500-2000 participants, including several international elite and celebrity athletes, this world-class race will be a landmark event for the country and launch Timor onto the international running calendar. www.dilimarathon.com
Place: Darwin and Dili (14 Jul 2012 - 19 Jul 2012)
The 2012 Darwin Dili Yacht Rally will start from Darwin on Saturday 14 July 2012. The course will be from the Start Line in Darwin Harbour, Australia, leaving Jaco Island to port, to the Finish Line off the city of Dili, Timor-Leste, a distance of 426 NM.
Place: Dili & Districts (10 Sep 2012 - 15 Sep 2012)
The 2012 Tour de Timor will be a unique celebration of peace as part of Timor-Leste’s 10th Anniversary of Independence. Under special arrangements this unique occasion will venture through Indonesia to the Enclave of Oecussi.
The route will take participants through dozens of seaside villages, past the historic town of Balibo and through the beautiful mountainous coffee country of the Mambae people.
Places for 2012 Tour de Timor will be strictly limited to 300 International entrants
