Transport from Dili to Atauro and Return.

Please remember to book and confirm your transport to and from Dili by calling either:

‘Compass Charters’ daily Water Taxi – Kim +670 7723 0966 The Water taxi leaves Dili 7:30am from in front of the yellow European Union building on the water front, leaves from in front of Barry’s Place 9:15am daily. $45 pp one way.

‘Atauro Roo’ boat service (minimum 4 passengers) – Jenny +670 7478280 leaves Barry’s Place 6am and leaves Dili 8am when booked. $30 pp one way

‘Nakroma’ public Ferry (on Saturday only). Tickets are to be purchased Friday from 8am at the Dili Port (only one-way). Once on Atauro, purchase tickets near the pier at 1:30pm. $5 or $10 one way.

Local boat ‘Manu-Tasi’ departs Atauro every Monday morning 4am. $10pp one way. (Ask Barry or Lina to help organise pick up and booking.)

Cancellation Policy

One night accommodation charge will be applied if the booking is cancelled within 7 Days prior to check in date
Total amount for accommodation will be charge if the booking is cancelled within 3 Days prior to arrival
100% of total accommodation charge from initial period of stay will be applied for early departure
100% of total accommodation charge will be applied for no show.

We ask you, as a guest to Atauro Island to please respect the local culture which is quite traditional and conservative.

Please:

Restrict swimwear and brief clothing to beaches outside the main village centres (sarongs and T shirts are handy for covering up).
Be aware that explicit displays of affection in public places are offensive.
Refrain from giving sweets/money to children. It encourages them to become beggars and makes it hard for all future visitors. Donations for schools, kindergartens, or churches can be made via the lodge manager who has a close relationship with local leaders.
